Dr. Nishakar Panda have so far authored five widely circulated books. Some of the popular books authored by him are; (i)“Policies, Programmes and Strategies for Tribal Development; A critical Appraisal”, (ii)“Tribal Commonalities and Under Development– An Interface”, (iii) “Irrigation and Economy, Dams and Displacement - Global, National and Regional Perspectives” (iv) “Development and Dispossession - Political Economy of Displacement, Rehabilitation and Beyond”. The present book, in a sharp departure from other books on the subject, presents new concepts and recent development practices particularly in mining sector. He has to his credit, a large number of Published reports, research papers and articles on challenges in planning, monitoring, evaluation, gender development, tribal development, displacement and other socio-economic issues in leading journals and edited books. He contributed an important paper on “Participatory process in monitoring & Evaluation” in the edited Book on “Results Based monitoring & Evaluation, issues & challenges “.He has also authored books on essays (“PRANA O PRAYANA”) and poems (“EKA KENDRA, ASHANKHYA BYASARDHA”) in Odia. He is an Economist/Planner by training and profession, an avid writer, an essayist, an orator, and a poet. He is a specialist in Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Innovation, and former Additional Director and former lecturer in Economics.
